The Queen of new music Shiner Sam catches up with cousins Jack and James Yates from Manchester shoegaze 5-piece Pastel!
Pastel are a 5-piece guitar band signed to independent Manchester label Spirit of Spike Island. The band formed in 2017 due to a sequence of unlikely events.
The members are Manchester cousins Jack Yates (Vocalist) and James Yates (Rhythm guitar) and Swansea lads Joe Anderson (Lead guitar), Rhys Wheeler (Drums) and Liam O’Shea (bass)
Drawing on numerous influences from dance fuelled Manchester bands such as The Stone Roses, The Charlatans and The Verve to shoegaze legends like ride and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
